I used exactly half a skein to make this mis-matched pair of socks (plus some undyed yarn for the toes, heels, and cuffs) but if you'd prefer a matching pair, you can do that too!
The striping pattern repeats exactly twice for a total of 152 stripes.
I dye regular sized skeins (115 g / 4 oz) and an XL 170 g / 6 oz. The larger size still has the same number of stripes, they are just wider.
