Trifecta is our newest yarn, named for its balance between softness, durability, and versatility. It's a 3-ply, heavy fingering weight with a blend of 80% superwash Merino and 20% extra soft nylon.
I tested it out on our September Asters socks and am delighted with the results. They are soft enough for my sensitive ankles, and the fabric is dense and squishy.
Trifeca will join our line-up alongside our 4-Ply Sock yarn. What's the difference? The 4-Ply yarn is a lighter fingering weight, meaning more yardage but a finer yarn. For shawls and scarves I prefer the 4-Ply but I'm looking forward to using Trifecta for socks, hats and baby sweaters where I'd like a little extra coziness and bounce.
In case you're wondering, I Trifecta for my September Asters socks and used almost exactly 80 g (women's size 9, 64 stitches around). If you're nervous about running out of yarn in your size, I recommend a 150 g skein!
80% superwash Merino, 20% nylon
100 g = 322 m (352 yd) | 150 g = 477 m (520 yd)
See how it compares to our other yarn bases.
