My first crochet project in 15 years!

I finished my Would You Rather shawl over the weekend, and I love it!

This is my first crocheted project in at least 15 years and my first time crocheting with my own yarn. I used this Granny shawl youtube tutorial, enjoyed every stitch, and am already planning out my next crochet project.

I did notice a few things along the way that will be no surprise to those of you who do both knitting and crochet:

  1. Crochet produces a thicker fabric than knitting, so the shawl is smaller than a knitted version would be.

  2. Because each row of a granny shawl is quite tall, the colour changes are more pronounced and the stripes aren't perfectly even. I find this quite charming!

I used a 100 g skein of my Would You Rather Shawl yarn in 4-Ply. Any of our shawl yarns would work beautifully for this . If you want to try it yourself, you can find them all in the shop.
