You may have heard that the de minimis exemption will end August 29. The good news is that, to the best of my knowledge, our yarn will continue to ship duty-free to the U.S. because it qualifies under the trade agreement between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico (CUSMA/USMCA).
Our wool is spun into yarn in Canada and to get all technical about it, the product undergoes a tariff shift (from HS 5101 raw wool to HS 5109 yarn). This means it qualifies as Canadian-origin and Preference Criterion B applies. The duty rate is free (0%).
That said, we can’t completely control what happens once a package leaves our hands. If anything unexpected comes up, please let us know — we’re here to help!
Thanks so much for your continued support. We love being able to send our yarn across the border and into your hands.
