Your August rainbow awaits.
It's here! Our August KAL kits are live as of this morning, and I am so excited to share this one with you.
Our Rainbows is a crescent shawlette designed by Andrea Rangel — a cheerful, beginner-friendly rainbow with a fun nerdy twist. Each of the three colourways is inspired by the spectrum of colours that a different species can see: the full rainbow as humans see it, the blue-and-yellow world of canine vision, and the purple-and-blue-green palette of feline vision. Same rainbow, three different ways of experiencing it.
KALs are one of my favourite things we do. There's something really special about knitting the same project with a whole group of knitters, sharing progress, asking questions, and cheering each other on. The Ravelry forum will be open and ready for you, and I hope you'll join us in August.
Grab your kit now. Yarn and pattern ship by mid-July, and we'll knit together all of August.
An important note: We planned this rainbow shawlette well before connecting the dots that we'd be promoting it during pride month. So it feels important to say that we support rainbows and LGBTQ+ rights year-round. And if you are going to be in Victoria BC this summer, you should know that the Big Gay Dog Walk is happening July 8.
