Tariffs next week?

I am, unfortunately, back again to talk about tariffs.

Here's the Short Version:

If you live in the USA and place an order this week, there’s a chance you may have to pay a 25% tariff to receive your package.

Here's the Longer Version:

Starting next Tuesday, March 4, a 25% tariff may be imposed on all goods entering the U.S. from Canada. If this goes into effect, it will apply to all packages crossing the border on or after March 4—regardless of when the order was placed.

Our little team doesn’t guarantee same-day shipping. In fact, I have this in every newsletter and right at the top of our website: orders can take 2-3 weeks to ship. While most orders go out within a week (we typically ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays), that longer window gives us some breathing room in case someone is sick or we need to dye yarn to order.

So, if you place an order today, I can’t guarantee that it will clear customs before the tariffs take effect. Even if we get the yarn in the mail this week, it takes a couple days for packages to get from us on Vancouver Island to the processing station in Vancouver, and then on to US customs. If tariffs to go into effect, there will no doubt be confusion and delays at the border.

I appreciate your patience and understanding—I’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
