Decode this sock!
This yarn uses a colour code to represent the letters of the alphabet and spells out LOVE IS LOVE. See the rest of the Hello Alphabet collection here.
There is extra grey at one end of the skein that can be used for cuffs, heels, toes, or any other accents. The colour map shows how the yarn is dyed, with six repeats of the word LOVE.
Our sample sock has a gauge of 7.5 stitches per inch, and 60 stitches around to fit a women's size 9. This sock has a short row heel using grey yarn from the end of the skein.
This skein would also be suitable for a Musselburgh Hat. The pattern is written for a range of gauges and yarn weights; we recommend using a needle in the range of a US 3 - 6 (3.25 mm - 4 mm).
$1 from the sale of each skein of this colourway will be donated to the Victoria Pride Society.
This listing is for one skein of yarn and one suede tag. We do not sell finished knitted items.
Striping Patterns
Striping Patterns
Round Trip Designed with two matching halves—perfect for projects like socks, mittens, or sleeves where you want identical results. One 100 g skein of fingering weight is enough for an average-size pair of women's socks. For longer or wider socks, choose the 150 g size.
One-Way Trip A long, non-repeating color sequence. Great for hats, cowls, or scarves—ideal when you want a journey through color from start to finish. For a Musselburgh Hat, 100 g of Trifecta or MCN is enough for a size L hat but you will need 150 g if you'd like a wide, folded brim. 4-Ply has more yardage so 100 g is enough to make a folded brim.
Shawl Yarn Specially dyed for top-down triangular shawls. Each stripe is the same width from beginning to end, with no ends to weave in. 100 g of fingering weight is enough for a small shawlette. 150 g gives a more generous size.
Sweater Yarn Designed for garments like baby sweaters. The stripes appear only on the yoke, and the rest is a coordinating solid color—no switching yarns or breaking the flow.
