We used 115 g skeins; for a longer cowl, the 170 g size would be great.
The pattern calls for Aran weight yarn. Since our samples are in a sport weight, we cast on 144 stitches and worked 48 in garter stitch, 96 in stockinette.

All our yarn is spun at a Canadian mill. Our Merino wool is sourced from from farms in New Zealand and mulesing is not performed on the sheep.
