Celebrate Socktober with us!

This year's colourway has 31 stripes, so we can knit one stripe a day in October. By Halloween, you’ll have a finished hat to show off!

We’re hosting a Knit‑Along on Ravelry all through October. Pick any pattern you'd like and join us to share your progress, cheer each other on, and enjoy the rhythm of daily knitting.

You have the option of adding a 25 g mini skein of purple Haunted Macaron yarn.

This is the One Trip version for all your hat or cowl knitting needs. The full skein has exactly 31 stripes. See all the Socktober yarns here.

If you'd like the exact colours and order of the stripes to be a little mystery that unfolds as you knit, don't click this link!  But if you'd like a hint at how this will look knit up, here are the colour maps

Base Yarns

All our yarn is spun at a Canadian mill. Our Merino wool is sourced from from farms in New Zealand and mulesing is not performed on the sheep.

Trifecta Fingering: 80% superwash Merino, 20% nylon
100 g = 322 m (352 yd)  |  150 g = 477 m (520 yd)

4-Ply Sock: 75% superwash Merino, 25% nylon
100 g = 425 m (465 yd) | 150 g = 638 m (698 yd)

2-Ply Fingering: 100% superwash Merino
100 g = 339 m (370 yd) | 150 g = 509 m (556 yd)

MCN Fingering: 70% superwash Merino, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon
100 g = 322 m (352 yd)  |  150 g = 477 m (520 yd)

Striping Patterns

Round Trip "There and back" with two matching halves—perfect for projects like socks. One 100 g skein of fingering weight is enough for an average-size pair of women's socks. For longer or wider socks, choose the 150 g size.

One-Way Trip A long, non-repeating color sequence, great for hats, cowls, or scarves. For a Musselburgh Hat, 100 g of Trifecta or MCN is enough for a size L hat but you will need 150 g if you'd like a wide, folded brim. 4-Ply has more yardage so 100 g is enough to make a folded brim.

Shawl Yarn Specially dyed for top-down triangular shawls. Each stripe is the same width from beginning to end, with no ends to weave in. 100 g of fingering weight is enough for a small shawlette. 150 g gives a more generous size. If you want to maximize your yardage, choose our 4-Ply sock yarn.

Sweater Yarn  Designed for garments like baby sweaters. The stripes appear only on the yoke, and the rest is a coordinating solid color—no switching yarns or breaking the flow.
