This colourway is called Recordkeeping, and the idea is to document your knitting process as you go.

There are so many ways to do this, but here's a fun and simple option:

Every time you pick up your project to start knitting, work the first 10 stitches in reverse stockinette (purl stitches on the right side). Then continue on in stockinette until you're done for the day. That's it!

When you look at your knitting later, you'll have a record of how many days you knit on the project, how much you knit per day, and the differences between days where you had a lot of knitting time and days where you barely managed a row or two.

If you use this project to document your knitting, I recommend choosing a pattern that is largely stockinette. That way your knitted record of purl stitches (or yarn overs, or whatever you choose) are easy to see. Some great choices are: Musselburgh Hat by Ysolda, Hydrogen Shawl by me, or Rye Socks by Tin Can Knits.

The hat in the photos used about 90g of 4-Ply yarn. A 100 g skein of 4-Ply will make a double-sided hat with a folded brim.

The MCN and Trifecta bases are a heavier fingering weight, so one 100 g skein is enough for a double-sided hat without a folded brim. If you'd prefer a folded brim, choose the 150 g size.
