Originally part of our 2021 summer club, this colourway is designed to pair with the  Three Seasons Shawl pattern by Andrea Rangel (sold separately).

We have two size options: a small shawlette and a large shawl. The Autumn shawl is shown in the large size. Both sizes are included in the pattern.

The small shawl requires 405 yd / 370 m of yarn. The finished wingspan is 47 in / 120 cm and the triangle depth is 20 in / 51 cm.

The large shawl requires 809 yd / 740 m of fingering weight yarn. The finished wingspan is 66 in / 168 cm and the triangle depth is 28 in / 71 cm.

The pattern calls for our luxurious MCN Fingering weight yarn (20% cashmere, 70% superwash Merino, 10% nylon). We have also dyed up this colourway on our 2-Ply Fingering yarn (100% superwash Merino) which is an excellent alternative.

This listing is for one or two skeins of yarn, not the final knitted item. The pattern can be purchased separately.

Striping Patterns

Round Trip Designed with two matching halves—perfect for projects like socks, mittens, or sleeves where you want identical results. One 100 g skein of fingering weight is enough for an average-size pair of women's socks. For longer or wider socks, choose the 150 g size.

One-Way Trip A long, non-repeating color sequence. Great for hats, cowls, or scarves—ideal when you want a journey through color from start to finish. For a Musselburgh Hat, 100 g of Trifecta or MCN is enough for a size L hat but you will need 150 g if you'd like a wide, folded brim. 4-Ply has more yardage so 100 g is enough to make a folded brim.

Shawl Yarn Specially dyed for top-down triangular shawls. Each stripe is the same width from beginning to end, with no ends to weave in. 100 g of fingering weight is enough for a small shawlette. 150 g gives a more generous size.

Sweater Yarn  Designed for garments like baby sweaters. The stripes appear only on the yoke, and the rest is a coordinating solid color—no switching yarns or breaking the flow.
