The colour progression has five sections of colour and repeats four times per skein (20 colour sections per skein), so you can plan for perfectly matching socks if you like.
Through sales of this colour way in April 2019, we were able to donate $750 to True North Aid, a Canadian charity that provides practical humanitarian support to northern Indigenous communities. We were inspired by designer Caroline Dick's decision to donate all proceeds from the sale of her Grotine pattern to this organization (and Grotine looks really great in this colourway!)
This listing is for one skein of yarn.
Striping Patterns
Striping Patterns
Round Trip "There and back" with two matching halves—perfect for projects like socks. One 100 g skein of fingering weight is enough for an average-size pair of women's socks. For longer or wider socks, choose the 150 g size.
One-Way Trip A long, non-repeating color sequence, great for hats, cowls, or scarves. For a Musselburgh Hat, 100 g of Trifecta or MCN is enough for a size L hat but you will need 150 g if you'd like a wide, folded brim. 4-Ply has more yardage so 100 g is enough to make a folded brim.
Shawl Yarn Specially dyed for top-down triangular shawls. Each stripe is the same width from beginning to end, with no ends to weave in. 100 g of fingering weight is enough for a small shawlette. 150 g gives a more generous size. If you want to maximize your yardage, choose our 4-Ply sock yarn.
Sweater Yarn Designed for garments like baby sweaters. The stripes appear only on the yoke, and the rest is a coordinating solid color—no switching yarns or breaking the flow.
