Join us for a month of knitting, creativity, and connection! The August Summer Club features a brand-new reversible hat design by Andrea Rangel—one side smooth and stripey, the other richly cabled.

This year’s kit comes in your choice of three colourways, all dyed on our soft and sturdy 4-Ply Sock base(75% superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon).

Your kit includes:

  • One 150g skein of self-striping yarn, dyed specifically for this pattern
  • A downloadable PDF pattern by Andrea Rangel (delivered via email in mid-July)
  • Access to the August Club knit-along.

Choose from three exclusive colorways:

  • Old Growth – moody rainbow
  • Canopy – forest greens and blues
  • Fading Light – soft twilight blues

No extra steps—when you sign up, you’re in the club. Join the KAL, share your progress, ask questions, and knit alongside a community of clever, creative makers.

Need another skein? Add extra yarn to your kit here.

The hat pattern is suitable for an intermediate, or adventurous beginner, knitter. Techniques include cables and a center-out cast on starting with few stitches.

It is written for three sizes, with finished hat circumferences of 51 cm, 54.5 cm, and 58 cm  (20", 21.5", and 22.75").

Yarn and pattern ship in July. Knit-along runs August 1 - 31.

Striping Patterns

Round Trip Designed with two matching halves—perfect for projects like socks, mittens, or sleeves where you want identical results. One 100 g skein of fingering weight is enough for an average-size pair of women's socks. For longer or wider socks, choose the 150 g size.

One-Way Trip A long, non-repeating color sequence. Great for hats, cowls, or scarves—ideal when you want a journey through color from start to finish. For a Musselburgh Hat, 100 g of Trifecta or MCN is enough for a size L hat but you will need 150 g if you'd like a wide, folded brim. 4-Ply has more yardage so 100 g is enough to make a folded brim.

Shawl Yarn Specially dyed for top-down triangular shawls. Each stripe is the same width from beginning to end, with no ends to weave in. 100 g of fingering weight is enough for a small shawlette. 150 g gives a more generous size.

Sweater Yarn  Designed for garments like baby sweaters. The stripes appear only on the yoke, and the rest is a coordinating solid color—no switching yarns or breaking the flow.
